4. Learn to Crochet: Have you ever wanted to learn how to crochet? Now's the time. Stephanie will be demonstrating how to make a washcloth and a scarf. Please see the instructions on what you need to bring with you that night.

 What to bring:

Easy Chunky Infinity Scarf

You will need to buy a crochet hook and yarn
  • Crochet hook size S (19 mm) – (about $3 to $4 without coupon)
  • 2-3 Skeins of thick yarn – (about $5 to $8 per skein without coupon)

Easy Cotton Dishcloth

You will need to buy a crochet hook and yarn
  • 1 Skein 100% Cotton yarn – White (about $2 to $4 without coupon)
  • Crochet hook size I (5 mm) (about $2 to $3 without coupon)
Scarf Yarn recommendation: “Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick” is a great choice, or find something comparable in thickness. If you want your scarf to be thick and wide like the sample, then I recommend buying 3 skeins. If you want your scarf a little thinner then 2 might be enough.

Dishcloth Yarn recommendation: “Lily Sugar’n Cream” or “Crafter’s Secret” brands are good options. I recommend buying just white because colored yarn might run or show bleach stains.

Tips on Pricing:
I shopped around at Michaels, Hobby Lobby, and Joann’s. There are similar choices of yarn at each store. Some of the prices do vary – so don’t forget to price match.

Check the store’s website for coupons. They always have coupons online or on their app. I found the large S hook at Hobby Lobby and Michaels only. It was cheapest at Michaels - $2.99 without a coupon. Coupon tips – some of the stores accept competitor coupons. At Hobby Lobby they always have 40% off of one item on their website.

Free Craft:

Popsicle stick idea jar: We will provide the popsicle sticks. You bring a jar and your favorite ribbon. Write on the popsicle sticks ideas for a date night, scriture study, FHE ideas, Articles of Faith, chores etc. Then you pull one and that's the idea you go with.
